You get up in the morning and have seven internal conversations about the best breakfast combination before you reach your kitchen. Then spend a good five minutes debating what you think you should have and what you actually want. You get hungry again at 10am and eat an apple (good choice), but are then STARVING five minutes later so you look in your bag for something else to eat…

What type of yoga is for YOU?

The Yoga world can be somewhat bamboozling so this blog is born out of wanting to breakdown into accessible non-yogi language, what kinds of yoga there are (this may help you if you are making decisions as to whether to try certain classes etc) and also to show why it is tricky to generalise when talking about yoga because there are so many different types, all of which offer a very different experience.

TOP TIPS for gaining and maintaining muscle!

The majority of people that work out will, at one time or another, have said that they want to “tone up” but what does this actually mean? Toning up requires two things: gaining muscle and losing body fat.
In order to have a toned physique, you must create an environment that will support muscle building. This is not as simple as just lifting big heavy weights and drinking protein shakes with some raw eggs on the side.

Why Hygge helps our Health

Recently, I was given the book “Hygge: The Danish Art of Happiness” by Marie Tourell Soderberg. The literal translation of “hygge” (pronounced ‘hugar’ apparently!) is “cosy”, but it is used widely to describe all the things that give you warmth, nourishment and make you feel at home.

How mobile are you?!

Christmas has come and gone and, no doubt, there has been way too much food and booze intake. We’ve now reached that awkward week after the mayhem, but we’re not back into the new year’s routine just yet… still most people feel like they need to move! Country walks, gentle yoga and any games will make you feel human again! Here is one to try with the family or your friends and I warn you… it is not as easy as it looks!
