The 75 minute vinyasa yoga class will start at 10am sharp so please arrive 5-10 minutes before to set up your station with everything you need. Feel free to bring your own yoga mat if you have one, blocks and straps will be provided 🙂
What Does a Yoga Class Involve?
Spring to life with this nourishing and energizing workshop designed to give the body and mind the spring clean that your houses may well be getting! The winter months lead to a build up in kapha dosha (a specific energy from Ayurveda) that is characterized by the earth and water elements, leaving us feeling weighty and lethargic. Energizing yoga and some small habitual changes can have you feeling zingy and lighter in your step in no time at all. In this class, we will heat the body with sun salutations and then following that, there will be a series of poses that involve back bends and twists to stoke our digestive fire. After the practice, we will allow 10 minutes for contemplation where we can decide what needs to be “let go.” Afterwards, there will be time for zingy ginger tea and coffee as well as some tasty delights so please do feel free to stay for a chat with your fellow yogis!
Is the Yoga Class Suitable for Beginners?
The class is perfect for both a beginner yogi and more experienced practitioner wanting to add more depth and richness to their practice. As there will be repetition, you can also use the material to improve or start a home yoga practice if this is something that appeals to you.
Yoga was initially created to prepare the body for meditation. It was thought that after the physical yoga practice, achieving both physical and mental stillness was more accessible. In this vain, we will embrace 10 minutes meditation after the yoga practice! There has been much research about the benefits of meditation and I think small pockets of stillness really benefit our mental health.
What Happens After the Yoga Class?
After class, there will be various coffees, teas and sweet treats provided! You can catch up with your fellow yogis and maybe even make some new friends. Staying for drinks and refreshments is optional, if you need to scoot off then you can do so and we will not be offended at all 🙂
